This week saw the second meeting of the Devon Clandestine Cake Club. The theme this time was "Bohemian Baking" and the Meeting was to be held in the Totnes area. After some thinking and two test cakes I decided on Courgette Cake. And I have to say, it's one of the best cakes I've made. Its really is yummy. If anyone would like the recipe, let me know.
Just prior to the meeting the venue was announced...The Cott Inn at Dartington. A lovely old pub just right for this sort of thing. The food there looked fab by the way, so if you're ever passing pop in for a bite. So anyway, we had 10 cakes in all. We had Guinness cake to Chocolate Chili cake and Chocolate Lentil cake to Poppy Seed cake. All totally delicious and beautiful to look at. I only managed 3 slices and I hadn't eaten before either. Took quite a selection home though which I then took into work for all my cake loving colleagues to sample. I had a cake-over and couldn't face another slice. I'm so glad this only happens every six weeks or so.
Sadly I didn't take any photos but I will post links etc as and when they appear from others. I did however take a photo of mine...well you would wouldn't you.
If you don't bake...give it a go! It doesn't have to be difficult.
