Disabled...Part 2 and Other Things.

Had to laugh, just read my last post, me going on about being disabled and parking. For the last seven weeks I've been stuck at home with a broken leg. The car has been sat right outside the house for all that time. That has to be a personal best where parking has to be concerned. 

Today I ventured out in the car after all that time. Slung a crutch in the boot just in case, got in and drove off. I'd known I'd have to drive today and had felt really apprehensive about it. Daft really as I've been driving for over 25 years. Nothing's changed. I can still drive, my car is still amazing and the roads are full of morons. Sadly my poor leg didn't enjoy the experience too much, hurts now. Best it gets used to it, I'm back to work next week. 

So anyway, back in August I had two weeks holiday, a week of which was to be spent camping. Started off ok, until day three. Got up, left the tent to go over to the showers and slipped on some wet and dodgy steps. One broken leg. That was the end of my holiday. On the plus side, I can rebook that time off and have another go at having a holiday. God knows when though. 

I will have been at home for eight whole weeks. Eight weeks of daytime to. Six weeks of not being able to go out. It's been miserable most of the time, especially with the weather being so nice. Thank god for friends and family, online shopping and knitting. Yes knitting, I've knitted and felted a handbag, knitted a rather fab scarf and now in the process of knitting blanket squares for a patchwork blanket. 

I'm now cast free and back to work next week, part time to start with. God knows how long this is going to take to heal, some days are better than others. They joys of getting old I guess.

I'm blogging today because the kids told me too. They didn't want to hear my pointless story so told me to blog it instead. The pointless story involved QVC so I can probably see their point. I was only watching because they had a Kitchen Aid multi cooker on, bloody expensive put amazing and beautiful to look at. I didn't buy one. Before the multi cooker came on, they were selling Ecoegg products. Amazing!!! Well I thought so. First up was fridge discs, discs you put in your fridge to keep fruit and veg fresh, they absorb the gases fruit and veg give off when they break down. The results were impressive. The discs last for three months and you get ten. TEN!!!! Bloody bargain. I shall be getting some. They also had lint rollers. A set of five. All sizes. They had a sticky silicone drum which picks up lint etc, then to clean then off, just run under to tap. Pretty cool. Also a must buy. Omg I need to get back to work. This is what my life has come to. A new handbag that's what...shhhhh!!!!

One more week of getting back to normal, shall the clean the car, inside and out for we will be back on the road having adventures. One more week of daytime tv. One more week of finding things to clean, under my bed was not pretty. 

Being disable is no fun. Being at home all this time has been awful. Note to self...give up camping!
