Time for an Update - To Include my Weekend Away, Exam Results, PDR and Bloody Router Part 5

So after being off for two weeks back to work I went.  Was so glad we came home from Cornwall on the Friday as it took all weekend to sort, clean and dry out the tent.  Its all packed away now until next year in the hope that we will have a summer.  I've booked my time off work in July in the hope that we do get some sunshine.  We'll see.

I went away last weekend, the first time in years, just me, no kids.  I travelled up to Leeds on the coach, cheap but not very cheerful, is a long way to go.  We did have several breaks though thank god, one of which was in Bristol.  I have to say Bristol has greatly improved and I may have to make a visit sometime in the near future.  So anyway Leeds was great, great company, great hotel, great weather.  I hope to do it all again, who knows, it could become a habit.

This week saw Nath turn 16 and on the same day he received his exam results.  The boy did good, but got D's in English and Maths. Its no big deal, he'll just resit them in January.  It was a very stressful day though, having to wait for news from him plus my PDR (Personal Development Review).  Last year's PDR went badly, was more of character assassination.  This year was for informal and pleasant.  I achieved my goals and met the criteria to go through the next gateway, which means a pay rise.  I also get some extra holiday from September so that's a bonus.  One other positive thing that came from it was me becoming the main Paed practitioner and liaise with the children's ward.  I've also been given the chance to visit and work on the Neonatal unit to gain experience in that field so all good.  Makes work a bit more bearable.

The BLOODY ROUTER.  Will this ever end.  I have swapped routers in the hope that normal service would be resumed.  Did it hell.  These routers just don't give out good enough signals.  So do I have the router near the computer so we have fast Internet or away so Nathcan use the XBox????  At the moment its between the two in the hope we can find a happy medium.  We'll see how we get on...all in the hope of saving money.  Was it really worth it?
